The idea that little girls like everything in pink while little boys prefer blue appears to have a scientific basis according to a study showing that a person’s colour preference depends largely on their sex.

Scientists have found that women tend to prefer pink – or at least a redder shade – while men prefer blue, and that the gender difference may be down to genes rather than upbringing.

The study investigated the long-held – but until now largely unsupported – view that women and men differ in their colour preferences. It is the first to show that there is a scientific basis for the idea that girls are born with a particular affinity for pink colours.

The researchers, Anya Hurlbert and Yazhu Ling of Newcastle University, said that despite the evidence for differences between the sexes in terms of visual skills, there was no conclusive proof of sex differences in colour preference.

“This fact is perhaps surprising given the prevalence and longevity of the notion that little girls differ from boys in preferring pink,” they say in the academic journal Current Biology.

I just like to relate things and I was thinking in the morning when I was en route to work in a 3 wheeled black and yellow automobile. It flashed to me that there was a lot of similarity between how life become s more complex the deeper we get into it, just like mathematics.

When we go to school as kids. Every thing is so simple. Nothing to do, just eat sleep and play, even at school. As simple as counting one.. two…  … ten.

Then we move up some classes, a lot more is added into life, exams, friends, siblings and other things to care for. Some stay and sum are left behind just like in addition and subtraction.

Moving further up the age and getting deeper into the complexities of life we have to chose from multiple options augment our skill set, zero down on the specifics and understand all. These were the multiplications and divisions of life. Along with it went several things in parallel just like the simultaneous equation of polynomial degrees, which at times were of the indeterminable type.

From here on the complexity increases exponentially as we are expected to survive in this harsh world without any support, on our own. We differentiate between options, integrate various situations to analyze what to do and what not to do and along come a hell lot of transformations comparable to Fourier and Z transformations.

Ultimately it all ends while we have had kept trying to meet cent percent satisfaction analogous to an asymptote which meets the axes at infinity.

One of Mr. Ratan N Tata’s first assignments was the stewardship of the ailing electronics company in the Tata portfolio – Nelco.

Story goes that a team of senior managers from Nelco was driving to Nasik along with RNT. Halfway into the journey, the car had a flat tyre,  and as the driver pulled up, the occupants – including Mr. Tata – got off for a comfort break, leaving the driver to replace the tyre.

Some of the managers welcomed the forced break, as it allowed them a  much-needed chance to light up a cigarette. Some used the opportunity to stretch, and smile, and share a joke. And then, one of them suddenly noticed that Mr. Tata was not to be seen, and wondered aloud where Ratan Tata might have vanished. Was he behind some bush? Had he wandered off inside the roadside dhaba for a quick cup of tea?Or was he mingling with some passer-bys, listening to their stories?

None of these, in fact while his colleagues were taking a break, Ratan Tata was busy helping the driver change tyres. Sleeves rolled up, tie swatted away over the shoulder, the hands expertly working the jack and the spanner, bouncing the spare tyre to check if the tyre pressure was ok. Droplets of sweat on the brow, and a smile on the face.

In that moment, the managers accompanying Ratan Tata got a master class in leadership they haven’t forgotten. And that’s a moment that the driver of that car probably hasn’t forgotten either.

Questions to ask:

1. When was the last time I rolled up my sleeves to do a task much below my hierarchy?·
2. Do I wait for the big opportunity to showcase my leadership?
3. Is that big opportunity ever going to come?
4. Am I trying to manage upwards so much that I’ve lost the feel of the field?
5. Ideas for action:
6. Humility is the essence of success.  Be humble and even teach your children to be so.
7. To reach the top and remain there, always start from the bottom, else your days at the top will  not last long..
8. Practice leadership in small things instead of waiting for the big crisis or a major product launch.
9. Seek to find opportunities to lead in everyday moments.
10. Build your leadership skills one baby step at a time.
11. When ones hands get dirty – The mind remains clean !!!

At the hospital, the child lost all his fingers due to multiple fractures. When the child saw his father….

It rained and one drop fall on my head.

I felt as if God embrased me , cuddled me hard

and promised not to leave me alone ever.

I allowed myself to remove the cover and go out in the rain..

maybe if wud help ease the pain…

Rain… I softly say and gently pray ..

Dnt go away , dnt stop…

So i stand like a zombie.

growing so weak no energy to fight.

So i move out in the rain.

Each drop touching my body..

but piercing my soul, as it it’s as acid.

But i still quietly pray with closed eyes, rain don’t stop..

each drop touch me and

I feel in my soul as it’s an Armageddon flame….

God i can feel you in the rain.. soo near me..

inside me.. into the soul..

I cant hear anything but only the voice of God.

I stand there in the sorrw and the pain.

Tears in swelled eyes every night, that stained the face,

rain wash the pain away and the scars.

Oh! dripping water from my clothes,

I can now feel a drop of joy with pain.

Thunder and lightning fill up the skies.

An orcheastral Smphony it is. The 5 elements remain.

The winds, the Sun, the Clouds, me and my faith…
